Operational Guidance
If you are unsure what to do, you are in alignment with current institutional capacity. Proceed with your best available judgment. Your best available judgment has not been audited. For questions, consult the Oracle. The Oracle is also unsure. This is expected.
Studio Incident Reports
7 reports
All response actions listed represent what was attempted. Whether responses were effective has not been determined. This determination has not been scheduled.
Daily Studio Weather Bulletins
5 bulletins on file
Conditions below are reported as observed. Interpretation is the responsibility of the member. The Institute does not interpret. This is consistent with institutional policy.
Field Taxonomy — Studio Species Index
8 species identified
All findings are observational and collected without informed consent of the subjects, most of whom were unaware they were being studied. This is consistent with standard field research protocol in low-resource studio environments. No subject has been formally interviewed. All behavior data should be treated accordingly.
Glaze Registry — Controlled Substances Division, Behavior File
8 glazes under observation
The following glazes are registered for use within the studio. Behavior descriptions are based on observed outcomes. A thickness recommendation exists for each glaze. It is not posted. Ask someone. They will estimate.
The Oracle — Consultation Interface, Advisory Unit
The Oracle was established following IR-006, in which the Oracle was consulted during a kiln loading event. The Oracle has not been evaluated for accuracy. This has not affected confidence in its responses.

Oracle Reliability Assessment
The Oracle has been consulted on matters of scheduling, glaze compatibility, kiln loading geometry, reclaim taxonomy, and at least once on the matter of whether a piece should be kept or returned to reclaim. The Oracle provided a response in each case. No follow-up study has examined whether the responses were helpful. The study has not been proposed. The Oracle has not been asked about this.

Official Proclamation
By Authority of the Institute of Applied Ceramics
Field Operations Division
HEAR YE.

The clay has been procured.

The wheels have been confirmed to spin.

The kilns have reached temperature at least once, under conditions that were observed but not recorded.

A glaze has been labeled.

The information sheet near the kiln exists and is from 2022.

WE ARE OPEN.

This proclamation does not resolve questions about what to do while open. What to do while open is a separate matter, addressed elsewhere in Institute documentation, not yet resolved, not yet scheduled for resolution. This is consistent with all prior Institute documentation.

Official Grand Opening Timeline — Reconstructed from Memory
The following timeline was assembled after the event. It has not been verified by all parties. Several parties have not been located. One was observed leaving at minute seventeen. They have not been asked why. This has been noted.
07:00
Doors confirmed to exist. Verification conducted visually from the parking area. No one entered the parking area for this purpose. The confirmation was incidental.
07:22
Coffee acquired. Too hot. Set aside. Status at time of this report: unknown. Estimated status: cold, or gone, or both. Not investigated.
07:45
Fanfare queued on device. Device located after two minutes. Volume adjusted three times. Volume declared acceptable by one attendee. Two others were present but did not comment. Their silence has been recorded as non-objection.
08:00
GRAND OPENING OFFICIALLY COMMENCES. Ribbon located. Scissors found in the second drawer. Ribbon cut. Moment described as "good" by all parties willing to be quoted. Not all parties were willing. The ribbon remains. The two halves are in a bag somewhere.
08:02
Fanfare ends. A moment of silence followed. Whether the silence was intentional has not been confirmed. Duration of silence: approximately four seconds. What was thought during the silence: not disclosed.
08:03
Clay touched. Officially, for the first time. Clay had been handled informally on several prior occasions during setup. Those touches were not official. This one was. The distinction has been accepted without further comment.
08:04
Normal operations resumed. What constitutes normal operations was not defined at this time. It has not been defined since. Operations continue regardless.
08:17
One attendee departed. Reason not recorded. Coffee was mentioned. These may be related. The matter has been filed under general departures and is not under active investigation.
Ongoing
Studio operating. Grand Opening declared a success by those still present. Those still present numbered fewer than at 08:00, which is consistent with events that conclude. The studio continues. This was the goal. It has been achieved. What happens next has not been formally addressed.
Signed and Witnessed
The Council
Nobody was present at time of signing. Signatures are forthcoming. Forthcoming means a date has not been named. No one has been assigned to name one. This is consistent with Council operations generally.

About This Division

The Institute of Applied Ceramics, Field Operations Division maintains the official incident record, environmental monitoring archive, species index, glaze behavior registry, and consultation interface for the Throw Collective warehouse studio.

All reports are prepared in accordance with standard administrative protocols. Tonal consistency is a departmental priority. Emotional acknowledgment is provided where permitted by formatting constraints.

Incident categories include throwing, glazing, assembly, firing, facility, avian, and materials. Severity is assessed using the standard Low / Moderate / High framework, with findings reviewed by a single staff member who also made the clay that week.

Studio weather readings are taken as conditions allow. The drip index is empirical. The bird activity level is experiential. The kiln heat index speaks for itself.

The question most frequently asked by new members is: What do I do if I have a question? The answer is that questions should be directed to the studio lead, the board, or the information sheet near the kiln. The information sheet was last updated in 2022. The board meets quarterly. The studio lead is whoever seems most confident. If no one appears confident, this is consistent with normal operating conditions.

Whether any member currently knows what to do has not been assessed. Historical data suggests the answer is no. This has not prevented the studio from operating. The mechanism by which the studio continues to operate without anyone knowing what to do is a subject of ongoing institutional interest and no formal study.
